Information we collect
Comments
When you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and comment text you enter, as well as your IP address and browser user agent to help prevent spam. Your email address is never shown publicly.
Likes
To prevent duplicate likes, we ask for your email address. We store only a one-way hash of the address, not the address itself.
Contact form
When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, the topic, the page URL (if you enter one) and your message. The submission is stored on our server and sent to us by email so that we can reply.
Server and security logs
Our hosting provider (GoDaddy) and our content delivery and security provider (Cloudflare) process technical information such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that are needed for the site to work: cookies that remember your name and email address if you choose to save them when commenting, a cookie that remembers which items you have liked, a cookie that remembers your language, and security cookies set by Cloudflare. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies at this time. If we add them in the future, we will update this policy first.
Third-party content and links
Some files, such as stylesheets, fonts and scripts, are loaded from public content delivery networks, which receive your IP address when your browser downloads them. Pages may link to manufacturers, benchmark sites and online retailers. When you follow an affiliate link, the retailer may set its own cookies to record the referral. Those websites are covered by their own privacy policies.
How we use information
We use the information above only to run the site: to publish and moderate comments, count likes, answer your messages, and keep the site secure. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep information
We keep comments and their data for as long as the comment is published. We keep contact form submissions for as long as we need them to handle your request and keep a record of it.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, including your comments, by using the contact form.
Children
